Here, young and friendly chef Ago Špacapan introduces guests to the flavours of the Karst region. Having taken over the trattoria opened by his parents in 1973, he has taken the restaurant to a new creative level expressed via a well-designed tasting menu that offers a fascinating journey of gastronomic discovery dish after dish. It also features a wine cellar for tastings and ageing hams and cheese, as well as vinegars, and, lastly, a number of guestrooms, the best of which have been recently renovated and embellished with period furnishings.

"Chef-owner Ago is a true ambassador for his territory. Each of his recipes has a story to tell of the inspirational local producers who supply him with everything from cheese to meat. His father is a hunter and supplies excellent game and homemade cured meats – that’s when he’s not busy with Ago in the vegetable garden. The restaurant also does its part to support the community, with their waste oil candles made by a local association who care for those with disabilities. You dine immersed in a familiar karst environment. "
