MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

A simple yet interesting restaurant situated a stone’s throw from the Torres de Quart in the El Carmen district. Chef Txiscu Nuévalos, who was responsible for R&D at the award-winning Nerua in Bilbao, has returned to his native region to open his own restaurant with his wife Laura, who is the “forastera” (“outsider”) from which it takes its name. In this pleasant restaurant, with its contemporary furnishings and bright, airy dining rooms, the focus is on two menus featuring home-style cuisine with a modern touch, both of which are reasonably priced, prepared using seasonal market ingredients and showcase attention to detail.
