MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Mas Pou occupies a 16C farmhouse in the centre of the village with landscaped gardens, a terrace and an annexe, nowadays home to a rural museum, the Museo Rural de la Labranza, which features a bar that is open at weekends. One of the most popular restaurants in the Baix Empordà region, it features an entrance hall and various rustic-style dining rooms, some with vaulted ceilings, where the simply prepared home-style cuisine is based around slow cooked dishes and high-quality local products. Its stews are particularly good, including the chicken with cuttlefish and prawns. Vegetarian and gluten-free menus are also available.
