Finally, the beloved ramen chain of Tokyo has landed in New York. Ramen tops every table here, and those in the know have probably ordered the classic tonkatsu, or maybe the smoked dashi ramen. All noodles are made in-house and have just as much authenticity, spring and bounce as their Tokyo-based counterparts. Sides also flaunt unique refinement, including those crisp-seared gyoza filled with tender pork, ginger, scallions, and served with spicy chili oil as well as ramen that arrives sizzling in a cast-iron pan. The chicken wings are pitch-perfect, glazed in teriyaki with pink peppercorn and a bit of lime. Inside, the décor is sleek, donning high ceilings, concrete floors and everything necessary to make it a slam-dunk among the midtown lunch crowds.
