MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

The Breslin remains white-hot and free spirits continue to pack this dark, moody dining room. The food on offer here is gastropub all the way down to the very last crumb of traditional steak and Stilton pie. While Scotch eggs, that classic bar snack, is a forever favorite, burrata with ranch dressing, radicchio di Castelfranco, fermented beets and shaved walnuts make a delightful appetizer. Also feast on the weekly-changing "pies" with all the beautiful and flaky domes filled with the likes of chicken and ham hock, and accompanied by mashed potatoes along with a green salad. A side of roasted cabbage with smoked lamb fat, cumin and fine herbs should make an appearance as an understudy.
Finish with the classic Banoffee pie sporting a shortbread crust.
