MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

It’s a neighborhood darling, but make no mistake, Porsena is also a solid destination. Sara Jenkins’ menu reflects the chef/owner’s passion for Italian cuisine, a fact further proven by her cookbooks on display out front. Pasta is undoubtedly the star of the show, but guests would do well to also consider their endlessly creative appetizer menu or after-dinner drinks list. Speaking of the former, homemade orecchiette di grano arso is paired with artichokes, garlic and Parmigiano for a decadent feast, while ravenous appetites can be seen relishing a perfectly charred skirt steak set over smashed fingerling potatoes and finished with a red wine reduction. Reservations are highly recommended as the space is small and stays packed for good reason.
