MICHELIN Guides Worldwide

Your Window into Gourmet Dining Around the World

Ever since extension across Europe in 1911, the Michelin Guide has continued to widen its reach every year.

The collection crossed the Atlantic in 2006, awarding stars to 39 restaurants in New York. In 2007 and 2008, the guide moved on to San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and in 2011 it was turn of Chicago to have its own Michelin guide.

In November 2007, the guide took its first step in Asia: in recognition of the excellence of Japanese cuisine, stars rained down on Tokyo, which was gripped by culinary fever! A guide to Kyoto, Kobe, Osaka and Nara followed, with Yokohama and Shonan then joining Tokyo.

Hong Kong and Macau arrived in 2009, putting the Red Guide firmly on the map in the Far East. In 2016 the expansion continued, with the publication of guides in Singapore, Seoul and Shanghai. Today, the collection covers 28 titles in more than 25 countries.
