MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
Tucked into a gorgeous townhouse along Chicago’s Gold Coast, this Italian charmer woos with pretty patios, sexy dark panel walls and conversation-worthy murals by Edward Sorel. The result is a casual, clubby feel; and the first floor, with its low wood beam ceilings, offers great views of Dearborn Street. Chef Rey Villalobos, who oversees the rest of Ideology's portfolio of restaurants (including Blue Door Farm Stand and Chicago Q), takes the reins here, pushing out a finely executed Italian menu. Try the notable pollo Milanese. While it may seems like a predictable standard, La Storia's version is laid over excellent liver mousse and strewn with crispy fried capers as well as peppery watercress to give it a solid leg up on the competition.
