MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

The good folks at the Boka Restaurant Group have done it again with Bellemore, a West Loop beauty that has tongues wagging across town. Headed by the extremely talented Jimmy Papadopoulos (of Bohemian House), this menu pairs the most pristine ingredients with classical French techniques. Unsurprisingly, the results practically shine in dishes like venison tartare, paired with silky bonito aïoli, smoky trumpet mushrooms and Tokyo turnips; or a perfectly flaky oyster pie, starring caviar, crème fraîche and tart green apple. The servers are jacketed, yet their style is friendly and personable. The buzzy interior lights up at night with convivial chatter, as guests soak in the stunning setting, lined with rounded booths and striking chandeliers.
