La Villa del Valle

It’s not Tuscany, though it looks a lot like it: welcome to La Villa del Valle, a charming boutique hotel in Valle de Guadalupe, not far from the border of California. It’s the passion project of a couple who left behind busy Los Angeles for the laid-back sunshine of the Mexican wine country. They manage the six-suite hotel — personally crafting the organic products in each bathroom and baking the bread that’s served for breakfast — and its accompanying winery, which specializes in crisp sparkling wines. Guest rooms are warm and colorful, with high-end linens, Nespresso machines, and views of the surrounding vineyards; three have private balconies. There’s an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, sculpture park, and yoga studio, plus a gourmet food truck and an elegant restaurant that uses house-made olive oil.
