What it may lack in traditional luxury, Hotel The Exchange makes up for with variety and surprise. No two of its 61 rooms are alike, and range from the pint-sized, no-frills Economy rooms all the way up to the suites, one of which is a room-sized camera obscura, another a giant rendition of a Rembrandt-style collar. The location, in the city center, gives some rooms views of the Beurs van Berlage building or the gorgeous Westerkerk church tower. At Cafe Stock, guests can enjoy smoothies, homemade bread and pancakes, and a selection of coffee and teas before setting out; destinations like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the world-famous “9 Streets” shopping area are within walking distance.
