MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
International Smoke is definitely en fuego. This downtown eatery nails that industrial-chic look with its black brick, copper accents and graffiti-emblazoned pillars. But, it’s the buzzing clientele that makes this a smoking-hot spot. Attentive servers make everyone feel like a VIP, though there’s a good chance you’ll be dining next to a bonafide baller—after all, this is a collaboration between Michael Mina and lifestyle maven/basketball wife, Ayesha Curry. Expect a meat-centric menu with creative takes on barbecue. Don't pass up the ribs, with three distinct flavors-all equally juicy, and yes, smoky. There's a nice balance here between messy finger food and elevated dishes employing smoke-filled cloches for tableside prep-and a bit of drama.
