MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

This roadside treat overlooking the Mayacamas Mountains is almost as lauded for its 16-acre produce garden (which provides many of the ingredients seen on your plate) and vineyard, as it is for its ultra-seasonal and eclectic-Californian cuisine. Dishes are wide-ranging and often refined as verified by ricotta gnocchi cooked to a gentle gold in rosemary-browned butter with squash, plump Medjool dates and almonds; or saffron and orange salmon that arrives firm and pink with quail eggs, dill aïoli and potato salad. An extensive Sunday brunch buffet highlights offerings from the wood-fired oven and charcoal grill.

The interior feels like a mountain ranch with its stone walls, fireplaces and chandeliers cleverly crafted from cutlery. Service is finely tuned.
