MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Pedra Furada is a tranquil village which happens to be along the route of the Portuguese Way of St James, hence the frequent sighting, particularly in the bar, of excited pilgrims who stop here to enjoy the restaurant’s daily menu. Access is via a charming terrace, which leads to a pleasantly rustic and meticulous dining room with a large fireplace, wood ceiling and solid walls adorned with various culinary awards. The homely regional cooking is as simple as it is honest and based around high-quality ingredients, including some produce grown in its own vegetable garden and award-winning specialities such as the Barcelos-style stuffed rooster.
