This town centre restaurant just behind the Grand Theatre is distinctly reminiscent of Woodstock! In fact, it seems to have stepped straight out of California’s hippy era: (slightly sticky) varnished wooden tables, imitation Tolix steel chairs with floral cushions, cane lampshades and an enamel tiled counter, while cookery books and glass jars of home-made preserves adorn the shelves. Local produce, zero waste and small producers set the scene for appetising vegetarian dishes with a distinctly inventive slant.
