When it comes to good quality dining at a great price, the Michelin Bib Gourmand award leads the way. We caught up with Chef Märt Õunap of Bib Gourmand awarded Fellin, situated in southern Estonia, to find out more about his restaurant and what the distinction means to him.
Set on the edge of Viljandi Old Town, this appealing bistro sports a colourful café-cum-bistro look, with eclectic artwork hanging on the walls, and a range of books and games spread about the place. What’s notable here is the focus on the local community – this is a restaurant that’s all things to all people, and the relaxed, laid-back atmosphere will instantly make you feel at home.
From the young to the old, everyone is welcome here. You’ll find the regulars popping in throughout the morning for coffee and cake; locals dropping by for a quick lamb sandwich at lunchtime; and those out for the evening to enjoy a leisurely three course meal. Whatever time of day you visit and for whatever reason, you’re sure to have a great time here – and all without breaking the bank.
