One MICHELIN Key · A very special stay
It takes an all-star team to make an impression in the Parisian luxury boutique hotel scene, and there’s no better way to describe the minds behind La Fantaisie. Designer Martin Brudnizki is well known from London to New York and beyond for his hospitality work but this is his first hotel in Paris. The location, in Faubourg Montmartre, could hardly be more auspicious, and the interior really is a fantasy, inspired by the neighborhood’s classic gardens.
Brudnizki imagined the hotel’s layout unfurling upward like a flower, from seedlings in the subterranean spa, where botanical mosaic murals surround pale green-tiled mineral pools, all the way up to the rooftop. The bloom of the flower, so to speak, is a stunner, with dazzling views of Paris, plush vintage sofas, and romantic café tables tucked away amid a lush thicket of trees and plants. In comparison to the whimsical common spaces, La Fantaisie’s rooms and suites are more restrained, but the look is still bright and cheerful: floral wallpaper and art prints, mid-century modern furnishings upholstered in vibrant shades of orange and turquoise, and marble bathrooms finished with retro Parisian details. Suites have private wooden decks with parasol umbrellas and live greenery, some facing the interior garden and others offering postcard-like views of the neighborhood’s quaint rooftops.
