The opera connection is no accident, of course, given the Maison Athénée’s location, a few streets over from the Palais Garnier. Every room is a bit different, all full of references to famous operas, and while they’re mostly on the small side, they’re well-formed, with plenty of attention lavished on the details, down to the Hermès products in the bathrooms.

It’s proof that you can live luxe without living large. Le Petit Salon is the lounge, full of nooks for a bit of privacy, and serving drinks and light fare into the night.
