Clever, functional design and affordable luxury are the hallmarks of TRIBE, the Australian-born hotel brand. Lyon is an arts and culture capital, and its bohemian neighborhood of Croix-Rousse, known for its silk-weaving tradition and lively street art scene, was the perfect place to open a hotel that doubles as a creative hub and social space. Indeed, TRIBE Lyon Croix Rousse’s primary selling points are its common spaces: a light-filled all-day eatery and bar, a coffee shop that runs in collaboration with a local roaster, a 24-hour lounge with co-working areas, and an open-air patio for reading or relaxing.

The rooms are, in a sense, secondary — but they’re smart in their simplicity. Each comes with a TRIBE signature bed, a coffee and tea station, and a compact, vintage-styled bathroom with a rain shower. The look is minimalist but cheerful, with rose pink and emerald green accent walls, retro reading lamps, and sixties-inspired modular furniture. In addition to the lively common areas, TRIBE Lyon Croix Rousse offers a small fitness center and grab-and-go gourmet snacks prepared by the hotel’s chef.
