It was in the 1970s that Giuseppe La Rosa, owner of the Vecchio Torino, decided to swap Turin for São Paulo. His restaurant has become known as one of the best Italian eateries in the city thanks to his recipe for gnocchi alla Piemontese (100% potato gnocchi with a tomato sauce and Fontina cheese) and his spectacular risottos. A highly enticing wine menu rounds off the experience, though keep an eye on the prices, which are not particularly low.
