MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

Zena, which translates as Genoa in the Ligurian dialect, is a simple, happy and vibrant eatery that pays homage to Liguria; the region which is home to pesto sauce. Faithful to the region’s traditional recipes, Zena Caffè serves dishes that are fresh, healthy and quick; special mention must go to its focaccias (with their light dough and generous fillings), its gnocchi and its home-made desserts such as the splendid latte dolce fritto (a thick milk-based cream which is left to solidify before being breaded and fried, and served with the caramel-flavoured doce de leite). Go with friends and order dishes to share, as well as a jug of sangria or clericot.
