Set at the foot of the Namur citadel, just to the south of the center of Wallonia’s capital, the Royal Snail is an eclectic work of architecture, joining four heritage buildings with substantial modern additions. The hotel’s 30 rooms are characterized by dramatic colors, unique patterns, and funky furniture and fixtures. Many overlook the hotel’s pool and expansive garden — some via terraces or balconies — while others face the lively Meuse River. Breakfast is served, and there’s room service, as well as a small spa — beyond that, it’s out into the city to see sights like the Félicien Rops Museum, the Archaeological Museum of Namur, and the Guy Delforge perfumery.
