Rigorously selected local sake and ingredients are the attractions here. Octopus from the Seto Inland Sea is served as chunks, oden or tempura. Guji can be grilled or deep-fried. The oden is famed for its elegant umami of Rishiri kombu. Both the daikon and deep-fried tofu are steeped in dashi. Soft-boiled eggs and yuba are prepared on the spot with great care. Tucked away in a narrow back-alley, the pub takes its name from the practice of hanging the shop-entrance curtain out.
