The complete overview will be available onMarch 18, 2026 here and in the MICHELIN Guide App. In 2026, the MICHELIN Guide Austria will once again present the MICHELIN Special Awards, including the MICHELIN Service Award, the Young Chef Award, and the Sommelier Award. The new selection also takes regional characteristics into account—for example, the fact that restaurants in certain areas are only open during the winter season.
“Austria has positioned itself in recent years as an internationally attractive travel destination, with an increasingly diverse culinary offering and a spirit of hospitality that can be felt throughout the country,” says Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide.
Austrian gastronomy stands for regional identity and high-quality ingredients, often sourced from local farmers or grown by the restaurant owners themselves. At the same time, chefs skillfully combine tradition and innovation with international influences.
Last year, the MICHELIN Guide returned to Austria with a nationwide restaurant selection. In 2025, 82 restaurants were awarded the coveted Stars—two of them in the highest category with three MICHELIN Stars, 18 with two Stars, and 62 restaurants with one Star.
