Two MICHELIN Keys · An exceptional stay
The island of Corsica has a certain reputation for wild, rugged beauty, and thanks to its distance from the French mainland it’s considerably less heavily traveled than, say, the Côte d’Azur. But its hospitality scene, ever growing, is capable of reaching impressive heights — none, perhaps, more impressive than Casadelmar.
Architecture enthusiasts may well know Jean-François Bodin’s design; Casadelmar’s silhouette is rigorously modern, though its weathered cedar surfaces blend harmoniously into the landscape. The eye is continually drawn outward, to the views of the gardens, the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio, and the mountains beyond.
Meanwhile the interiors are crisp and stylish, full of warm tones and wooden textures, with bold accents of color; classic designer furniture by the likes of Le Corbusier and Bertoia set a distinguished tone. All rooms and suites have terraces over the bay, and it’s a short hike to the small private beach below.
There’s a spa and a fitness center, as well as a 25-meter infinity pool with its own spectacular panoramic view. But Casadelmar’s most unique attraction is neither its views nor its architecture but its restaurants; the Grill and Lounge Bar, on the terrace, is the warm-up for the main event, the eponymous Casadelmar, the only restaurant in Corsica to be awarded two MICHELIN Stars.
Please note: Casadelmar is a seasonal property, open from late April through early October.
